Description
A beautiful Antique Edwardian ring depicting two coiled serpents entwined together. The snake’s heads meet at the front where they are set with two twinkling old cut diamonds.
Serpent jewellery was popular in Victorian and Edwardian times, after Prince Albert gifted the young Queen Victoria a serpent ring during their courtship. Two entwined snakes represent loyalty, friendship and eternal love.
The ring is crafted in 18ct Gold and has nice weight and a substantial look on the hand. It is complete with crisp Chester hallmarks dating this ring to 1904, and is stamped with the makers mark ‘S.U.L.td’ for Samuel Usher LTD – a goldsmith and jewellers based in Vyse Street, Birmingham.
The ring is size Q 1/2.
